About This Track

Isolation and the impossibility of true connection drive this track. The lyrics circle around a fundamental loneliness: no one understands, silence is preferable to engagement, and the effort to know others only compounds anxiety. There's a weariness here, a sense that the complexity of human relationship outstrips the energy available to sustain it. The song moves between English and Japanese, its structure mirroring the fractured thoughts it describes. A disruption and blinder, the repeated refrain suggests, and then nothing beyond. The instrumental passages that frame the piece allow the mood to settle and deepen, the music itself becoming a kind of withdrawal from the world the lyrics describe.

"グッドバイ (Goodbye)" is a track by toe, released 6th December 2006. Full lyrics are available below.

Lyrics

(Goodbye)

There is no one can understand me truly

I don't go out, I will keep silence

Everyone is mania in general

You don't have

To know others

It's more complex than how I used to thought

But already I know

The start is the end

Everyone is mania in general

You don't have time to sleep

For to know others

A disruption and blinder (Hm)

[Instrumental]

(Hm)

A disruption and blinder (Hm)

[Instrumental Outro]
