About This Track

Topic and Ally Brooke built 'Perfect' around a simple reassurance: acceptance without condition. The track finds Brooke's narrator caught in a spiral of self-doubt, measuring herself against an endless parade of rivals who are smarter, prettier, more driven. Each time that spiral tightens, her partner offers the same steady counterweight: you're perfect as you are. The song trades in the currency of pop reassurance, but the lyrics give it weight. Brooke sings of being taken home without makeup, of being allowed to fall apart, of someone who doesn't judge when she makes herself hard to love. It's less about flattery than permission, the small radical act of being seen and accepted in your mess. The production sits light around her voice, letting the emotional clarity of the hook do the heavy lifting.
