About This Track

'Do It' is a propulsive dance track built on the pleasure of movement and release. The song cycles through a simple, insistent chorus that pairs affirmation with rhythm, the repeated refrain "do it, do it, do it" functioning as both invitation and instruction. There's a lightness to the production that keeps the track from feeling heavy-handed; the groove invites rather than demands. The bridge shifts the mood slightly, grounding the euphoria in something more grounded: the satisfaction of a week's work finished, the moment when restraint can finally lift. Tuxedo, the collaboration between Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One with Greg Wells, shapes the track around that tension between anticipation and release, letting the rhythm do most of the talking.
