About This Track

Wage War's 'Gravity' is a song about drowning in one's own weight, literal and metaphorical. The narrator feels untethered, losing grip and losing touch, haunted by demons that won't recede into the past. Each breath feels like it could be the last. The chorus imagines rescue as a kind of earthing: pull me close, it pleads, show me better days ahead, set me free from this gravity. The song trades in the language of crisis and isolation, but its emotional centre is not despair alone. There's a reaching towards someone else, a recognition that alone the narrator cannot fix this. The bridge acknowledges a distant light in the tunnel. What Wage War do here is frame drowning not as an ending but as a condition that might be survived, if only the grip can be loosened and the hand held.
