A purpose, a cypher

A value, a stain

No place for invention

Resent or refrain

How to reconcile that those in power

Should be justifying why they hold it

With the fact of my life and its proof of mastery

As though that ever paid off

An artist, a goal

A student, a soul

A cypher, a scroll

A value, a whole

Can I protect the world from those forces

That promote empty things and say that they can change the world

That they benefit from while making things that I still believe in?

With this sound I seize new mеans

Hold my tongue, make my palate clеan

Tell the muses I can grow

Tell the world I told you so

A market, aghast

I loosen my grasp

A purpose, a lie

A value, declined

I tell myself that I am unworthy

Because that world wants me to believe it

The planet of luck shines down upon me

As I work both with and in spite of it
