'Float' by Wet is a 2025 indie pop track from the album 'Two Lives'. The lyrics cast the narrator as trying to stay afloat by metaphorically “swim[ming] out”, turning isolation into something like self-made geography. There is an uneasy sense of sinking, paired with a wish for someone’s return that is framed as beyond the narrator’s control. They describe falling, then an insistence on being drawn back, into a home figured as fragile, sand-built, and temporary. One way through seems to be surrender to the tide, even as the ground keeps giving way.
