About This Track

'Losing Your Mind' frames a portrait of a woman caught between inherited wealth and internal collapse. Her father's aeroplane and mother's money sit alongside quicksand and a pressing machine, the material comfort and physical pressure existing in the same sentence. Ye repeats the title phrase across the chorus with accumulating force, the repetition itself becoming a kind of erosion. The song holds a single image across both verses: a beautiful rose standing at a corner, living out of tune. It is a figure caught between worlds, and the song's architecture, sparse, repetitive, almost hypnotic, mirrors that dislocation. There is no resolution, only the insistent return to the central claim, the mind slipping away.
