Vince Staples has shared new single ‘Cotton’, the latest preview of his upcoming album ‘Cry Baby’, which arrives this Friday.
The Long Beach rapper has paired the track with a new visual, following previous album singles ‘Blackberry Marmalade’ and ‘White Flag’. As with those videos, Staples has offered little explanation, allowing the imagery to speak for itself.
‘Cry Baby’ marks Staples’ latest project and sees him take a different approach in the studio, building each track around live instrumentation. The album is described as a record that grapples with the tensions and contradictions of contemporary America.
Ahead of the album’s release, Staples has also announced plans to livestream his sold-out album launch show from Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre this Thursday. The event follows a recent appearance at Undefeated La Brea, where he gave away the final tickets to the show and unveiled a custom pair of ‘Cry Baby’-inspired Converse Chuck Taylors.
‘Cry Baby’ lands on Friday.
Debut record 'NATURE IS HEALING' lands this Friday through RCA Records.
