James William Marriott, born on 7 July 1997 in Switzerland, is an English musician and YouTuber. He grew up in England. Marriott gained recognition with his 2025 album Don't Tell the Dog, which reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. His 2026 single “California Rain” charted in the Top 40. His earlier releases include the album Are We There Yet?, which peaked at number 17 on the UK Albums Chart, and the single "I Don't Want to Live Like This," which reached number 67 on the UK singles chart. Marriott initially uploaded videos of instrumental acoustic music and later expanded into caustic YouTube commentary videos and Twitch livestreams. His debut single, "Slow Down," was released in May 2020. He released the EPs No Left Brain and Bitter Tongues, and his debut album was released in 2023. Marriott has cited Foals and the Strokes as major influences. His music is generally described as indie rock. In 2025, he launched a bottled iced coffee brand called Rodd's in collaboration with WillNE.
