Cardi B, born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar on October 11, 1992, is an American rapper. She was born and raised in New York City. She is known for her energetic rap flow and outspoken lyrics. She launched her music career in 2016 and released two mixtapes. Her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, was released in 2018. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and had the largest female rap album streaming week of all time. It became the best-selling and highest-certified female rap album of the 21st century. Rolling Stone ranked it as the best debut album of all time by a female rapper. Cardi B was the first solo female artist to win the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
