David Bowie's legacy is being celebrated with a new series of Bowie Nights
Immersive London venue unveils orchestral concerts, blackout playbacks and outdoor gig for late-summer celebration.

David Bowie was an English singer, songwriter, and actor born as David Robert Jones on 8 January 1947. He studied art, music, and design before beginning his music career in 1962. After releasing several unsuccessful singles with local bands and a self-titled solo album in 1967, he achieved his first top-five UK single with "Space Oddity" in 1969. In 1972, Bowie adopted the alter ego Ziggy Stardust during the glam rock era, with the single "Starman" and the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars gaining widespread popularity. His style shifted in 1975 towards a sound he described as "plastic soul," which initially alienated some UK fans but led to his first major US success with the number-one single "Fame" and the album Young Americans. Throughout his career, Bowie was known for his reinvention and visual presentation, which had a significant impact on popular music. He was regarded as one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century and also pursued acting. Bowie passed away on 10 January 2016.
