Catherine Hope Gavin, born December 30, 1992, is an American singer-songwriter from Winnetka, Illinois. She is the lead vocalist and principal lyricist for the band MUNA, which she formed in 2013 after moving to Los Angeles. Gavin began her music career in 2009 by publishing home recordings on SoundCloud and performing live in the Greater Chicago area. She formed MUNA with her then-classmates Josette Maskin and Naomi McPherson at the University of Southern California. The band has released three studio albums: About U (2017), Saves the World (2019), and Muna (2022). In October 2024, Gavin released her debut solo album, What a Relief, through Saddest Factory Records.
