Lucy Elizabeth Dacus (born May 2, 1995) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer from Richmond, Virginia. She gained recognition with her debut album, No Burden, released in 2016, which led to a deal with Matador Records. Her second album, Historian, was released in 2018 to critical acclaim. Her third studio album, Home Video, came out in 2021, followed by Forever Is a Feeling in 2025. Dacus is also a member of the indie supergroup Boygenius, alongside Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers. The band has released one studio album and two EPs, receiving critical praise and engaging in extensive touring. Boygenius won three Grammy Awards in 2024, including Best Alternative Music Album, and became the first all-female band to win awards for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance. In October 2023, Rolling Stone ranked Dacus as the 213th-greatest guitarist of all time, citing her guitar as an essential instrument alongside her voice.
