Loathe is an English heavy metal band from Liverpool, formed in 2014. The band’s music incorporates elements of metalcore and nu metal, along with experimental influences from genres such as shoegaze, progressive metal, and industrial music. The group consists of lead vocalist Kadeem France, guitarist and second vocalist Erik Bickerstaffe, drummer Sean Radcliffe, and bassist Feisal El-Khazragi. They are signed to SharpTone Records. Loathe released their first EP, Prepare Consume Proceed, in 2015, which was re-issued in 2016 as the label’s first release. Their debut studio album, The Cold Sun, was released in 2017. In 2018, they released a split EP with label-mate Holding Absence titled This Is as One. Their second studio album, I Let It In and It Took Everything, was released on 7 February 2020. The band’s third studio album, the Things They Believe, was released on 7 February 2021 and consisted entirely of ambient tracks, serving as an extension of their previous album. Loathe was nominated for the Heavy Music Awards best UK breakthrough band and the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards best new band in 2018.
