The total building capacity runs well into four figures, with the main room holding around a thousand, and the place was pitched at the genres Bristol's circuit had been short of dedicated space for: hip-hop, R&B, electronics and heavier guitar music. The result is a venue that feels purpose-fitted to the city's long-standing appetite for low frequencies. As a relatively recent arrival rather than a heritage room, its character comes from programming rather than legend, sitting within the Electric Group's stable of city venues and slotting into Bristol's independent live scene as a mid-sized step up from the grassroots clubs.
