Miley Ray Cyrus, born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She gained prominence as a child actress and later developed a successful entertainment career as an adult. Cyrus is known for her evolving artistry and image reinventions. She starred as Miley Stewart in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana from 2006 to 2011, which produced two number-one soundtracks on the Billboard 200. Her solo music career began with the release of the albums Meet Miley Cyrus (2007) and Breakout (2008), both reaching the top of the US charts. The single "Party in the U.S.A." from her EP The Time of Our Lives (2009) was certified 16-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. She aimed for a more mature image with her dance-pop album Can't Be Tamed (2010) and later transitioned to trap-pop and R&B styles with Bangerz (2013), which included the singles "We Can't Stop" and her first Billboard Hot 100 number-one "Wrecking Ball." Her subsequent albums, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz (2015), Younger Now (2017), and Plastic Hearts (2020), explored genres such as psychedelic, country, and rock.
