John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (3 December 1948 – 22 July 2025) was an English singer, songwriter, and media personality. He co-founded the band Black Sabbath in 1968 and was their lead vocalist during the recording of their first eight studio albums, including Black Sabbath, Paranoid, and Master of Reality. He was dismissed from the band in 1979 due to issues related to alcohol and drug use. Following his departure, Osbourne launched a solo career in the 1980s, forming his own band with Randy Rhoads and Bob Daisley. His solo discography includes thirteen studio albums, with the first seven achieving multi-platinum status in the United States. Osbourne was known for his onstage antics and offstage controversies, and was accused of promoting Satanism by some groups. He occasionally reunited with Black Sabbath throughout his career.
