Aaron Jerome Foulds, known professionally as Sbtrkt, is an English musician, songwriter, and record producer. He has remixed songs by artists including M.I.A, Radiohead, Modeselektor, Basement Jaxx, Mark Ronson, and Underworld. Sbtrkt has released singles, EPs, and four albums. His music has been playlisted by BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music. Jerome has performed live with frequent collaborator Sampha. The live performances from 2010 to 2012 involved Jerome using synthesisers, keyboards, drums, and drum programming, with Sampha providing vocals and keyboards. Jerome described his racial and ethnic background as "mixed-race" South Asian (Kenyan Goan) and Scottish heritage. He used the project’s title rather than his own name to support the concept of anonymity, stating that he preferred not to discuss himself personally and wanted the music to speak for itself. Jerome has expressed that he is not a social person and that he did not want to engage in promotional interactions such as talking to DJs to promote his music.
