Janae Nierah Wherry, known professionally as Sexyy Red, is an American rapper born on April 15, 1998. She gained prominence in 2023 with the release of her single "Pound Town," which featured Tay Keith; a remixed sequel, "Pound Town 2," with Nicki Minaj, became her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Her follow-up single, "SkeeYee," achieved similar success, and both songs were included on her second mixtape, Hood Hottest Princess, released in 2023. Billboard described her as "one of the biggest breakout artists of summer 2023." In the same year, she appeared as a guest on remixes of "Shake Sumn" by DaBaby, "Slut Me Out" by NLE Choppa, and "Peaches & Eggplants" by Young Nudy, alongside Latto. She also featured on Drake's 2023 single "Rich Baby Daddy," which reached the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. In 2024, she released the single "Get It Sexyy," which preceded her third mixtape, In Sexyy We Trust. That year, her feature on Tyler, the Creator's single "Sticky," alongside GloRilla and Lil Wayne, reached the top ten and was nominated for Best Rap Song at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.
