Sigur Rós to bring orchestral world tour to a close with European dates
The collaborative project with conductor Robert Ames wraps up this September.

Sigur Rós is an Icelandic post-rock band formed in 1994 in Reykjavík. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson, bassist Georg Hólm, and keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson. The group is known for their ethereal sound, Jónsi's falsetto vocals, and their use of bowed guitar. Their music incorporates classical and minimal aesthetic elements. Jónsi's vocals are performed in Icelandic and non-linguistic vocalisations that the band refers to as Vonlenska.
