The Soft Pink Truth is an experimental house music side-project created by Drew Daniel, who is also a member of the electronic music duo Matmos. Daniel launched the project in 2003 after a challenge from Matthew Herbert, who questioned whether he could produce a house record. The first album, 'Do You Party?', included original songs and a cover of Vanity 6's 'Make Up'. In 2004, the project released its second album, 'Do You Want New Wave (Or Do You Want the Soft Pink Truth?)', which features house covers of hardcore and punk songs such as 'Do They Owe Us a Living?' by Crass, 'Homosexual' by the Angry Samoans, and 'Real Shocks' by the Swell Maps. The Soft Pink Truth has also produced remixes, including one for Björk's single 'It's in Our Hands'. Matmos collaborated with Björk on her 2001 album Vespertine. In October 2007, Daniel announced he was creating new music under the name Soft Pink Tube.
