About Tiësto

Tijs Michiel Verwest, born on 17 January 1969, is a Dutch DJ and record producer known professionally as Tiësto. He was voted "The Greatest DJ of All Time" by Mix magazine in a 2010/2011 poll and was named the "best DJ of the last 20 years" by DJ Mag readers in 2013. Tiësto is often referred to as the "Godfather of EDM." In 1997, he co-founded Black Hole Recordings with Arny Bink, releasing the Magik and In Search of Sunrise CD series. He met producer Dennis Waakop Reijers in 1998, with whom he has collaborated extensively. Between 1998 and 2000, he worked with Ferry Corsten under the name Gouryella. His 2000 remix of Delerium's 'Silence' featuring Sarah McLachlan gained mainstream recognition. Tiësto's debut solo album, 'In My Memory,' was released in 2001 and included several major hits that contributed to his rise in prominence. He was ranked World No. 1 DJ in DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs poll for three consecutive years from 2002 to 2004.
