Get ready for Dork’s Night Out with Home Counties’ ‘Get ready for Dork’s Night Out’ playlist

Dork’s Night Out is set to return to London’s legendary 100 Club.

Artists: Home Counties

Dork’s Night Out is set to return to London’s legendary 100 Club this week (Wednesday, 27th November) for our latest blockbuster edition, featuring a killer bill in one of the nation’s most historic music venues.

After a series of standout shows over the course of 2024, we’re far from done for the year as we pull together some of our highlights of the last twelve months for a winter warmer.

Headlining are the magnificent Home Counties, fresh from the release of their Really Very Brilliant debut album ‘Exactly As It Seems’ – a record that, if you haven’t checked out yet, you must. Immediately.

Also on the bill are Nottingham’s GIRLBAND!, who have been on the rise following debut EP ‘Heartbreak Town’, released earlier this summer to much acclaim. Blazing their way towards 2025, they’re a band with self-made momentum on their side.

Plus, we’ve Leeds-based newcomers Adult DVD. The six-piece party starters – who’ve not long dropped their fab new EP, ‘Next Day Shipping’ – have been steadily building a reputation for their irrisistable, tongue-in-cheek takes on modern life. A must-see.

To celebrate their bill-topping appearance, Home Counties have put together a ‘Get ready for Dork’s Night Out’ playlist, full of tracks that’ll make sure you’re buzzing for the main event. Assuming you can get ready in 21 minutes, of course. (It’s a good job we can’t (-slash-won’t) iron.)

Tickets are available for the bargain price of just £11 (+BF). You can grab them now from Dice and WeGotTickets.

Armand Van Helden – Kentucky Fried Flow

Whilst you have no idea what Van Helden is saying in this song, you know exactly what he means. As catchy as it is stupid, this song really gets us in the right frame of mind.

Charli xcx – Von Dutch

As we enter the misery of winter in London, this is a nice throwback to a happier and warmer time.

The Buzzcocks – Everybody’s Happy Nowadays

A song to feel the historic significance of the 100 Club, following in the footsteps of giants.

Eminem – Lose Yourself

At school, we had a PE teacher who would obnoxiously play this out of a speaker before low-stakes fixtures against other schools, and we had to look each other in the eye and say, ‘I won’t let you down’. We like to replicate this before gigs to foster an ‘us vs them’ attitude towards the audience.

Dolly Parton – 9 to 5

A crushing reminder that we have work the next day after the gig. A song to blast whilst emptying the rider into guitar cases for weekend consumption.
