Motorhead fans are trying to get ‘Ace Of Spades’ to No.1 in the UK singles chart, following the death of frontman Lemmy on 28th December after a brief battle with an aggressive form of cancer.
The ‘Motörhead For No.1’ campaign, launched on Facebook, says:
“Please share this across the rock'n'roll universe... if we ALL download any version of ACE OF SPADES by Motörhead from Jan 1st - 7th (the next full chart week) we WILL get it to No.1 as long as we all get stuck in and do it, but we need as many to join us as possible, so please do use the 'Invite friends to page' facility too as it really helps, thanks.”
To take part, make sure you buy the track - which appears on the band’s fourth album, released in 1980 - after this Friday, 1st January. So far over 20,000 people have ‘liked’ the campaign page.
