How RAYE and Absolutely turned vulnerability into joy at Reading Festival
At Reading Festival 2026, RAYE and Absolutely each made room for difficult feelings without letting them define the atmosphere of their sets.
Lyrics
Higher
Won't you back me from the ground I, I, I
I don't have to keep my feet on the ground To say I'm comin' up (I'm comin') And I'm coming up (I'm comin' up), yeah Like, why try when there's something holding you down? The line keeps holding up (Keeps holding) Well, it happens to the both of us
But you take me higher, higher, higher Gasoline lights fire Strike when hot like iron We could start an empire, -pire, -pire, -pire, -pire Take me twenty thousand to the sky, yeah I'm a gravity defier Baby, know you earned your title, mine, mine, mine
La-la, la, la-la, la-la-la, la-la La-la-la, la-la, la-la-la, la-la La-la-la, la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la-la-la (Oh) La-la-la, la-la, la, la, la, la, la (Oh, oh, oh) (Oh, oh, oh)
I know this, know this Wake up in the morning Wake up and smell the motherfucking roses (Roses) What's not mine anymore's, goodbye, baby, bye I'ma blow a kiss (Mwah) I know we can still coexist (Yeah) Build a bridge and get over it (Huh) Stop looking out for a bone to pick
'Cause I'm tryin' to take it higher Gasoline lights fire Strike when hot like iron We could start an empire, -pire, -pire, -pire, -pire (I, I, I, I, I, I) Take me twenty thousand to the sky, yeah I'm a gravity defier Baby, know you earned your title, mine, mine, mine
La-la, la, la-la, la-la-la, la-la La-la-la, la-la, la-la-la, la-la La-la-la, la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la-la-la (Oh) La-la-la, la-la, la, la, la, la, la (Oh, oh, oh) (Oh, oh, oh)
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Ooh, ooh
