GHOST

Ghost is a Swedish rock band formed in Linköping in 2006. The band released their debut album, Opus Eponymous, in 2010. Their subsequent albums include Infestissumam (2013), Meliora (2015), Prequelle (2018), Impera (2022), and Skeletá (2025). The album Skeletá became their first to reach number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. The band is known for their theatrical stage presence, with members other than the lead vocalist known as "Nameless Ghouls." The lead singer performs under the persona of "Papa Emeritus," a character characterized by "demonic anti-pope" imagery, with this persona changing across tours. Their music incorporates elements of hard rock, heavy metal, arena rock, and pop rock. In 2017, the identity of the lead singer was revealed as Tobias Forge, following legal action from musicians who had collaborated with him. The band’s single "Cirice" won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2016, and they have received multiple Swedish Grammis nominations.
