Blondshell lets go: “Control is just an illusion anyway”
‘Violins’ catches Blondshell’s Sabrina Teitelbaum learning to relinquish control while making some of her most assured music yet.
Lyrics
Thumbtack
Somewhere in the village you're a star Something's feeling different I'll pretend I don't remember What it's like when you're around Why I asked you to get out Of California and you did You're a thumbtack in my side A dog bite
You distract From what's worse so I will let you Keep a ball chain on my leg Keep fucking with my head 'Cause it's not as bad as what I do to myself Somewhere in the village at a bar You lie about the business To someone who won't remember
What it's like when you're around Is why I asked you to get out Of my apartment And you left You're a thumbtack in my side A dog bite You distract From what's worse so I will let you
Keep a ball chain on my leg Keep fucking with my head 'Cause it's not as bad as what I do to myself "Laura" by Bat For Lashes played on the comedown When you get drunk you get nice So I will be your shadow Take me to hell and then Keep me out of my own mind
'Cause letting you in my head Is easier than my obsession You're not even a good friend But I'll let you act like that's the problem A thumbtack in my side A dog bite You distract From what's worse so I will let you
Keep a ball chain on my leg Keep fucking with my head 'Cause it's not as bad as what I do to myself Ah-ah Ah-ah
