Task Master

Lyrics

Task Master

[Verse 1]

22nd of March, 2022

Tommy's birthday, he'd be thirty-one today

[?] thirty-two

It's been quite a ride and this is like servitude

Come a long way from chuckin' eggs, 2002

Brokenhearted to the heartbreaker

I'm hoping that the karma don't break me up too much

But there's an art to this heartbreak stuff

What doesn't kill you only makes you harder than the task-maker

[Chorus]

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What doesn't kill you only makes you harder than the—

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What doesn't kill you only makes you harder than the task-maker

[Verse 2]

And the task that is love only gets faster and harder (Yeah)

Chilling weight that you bear [?], help me, father

To the students studying for their masters

With no certainty of working in the path that they're after

Broken promises they half-made up

I'm hoping that the karma we deserve can take us halfway up

'Cause there's an art to this hard work stuff

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger than the task-maker

[Chorus]

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What doesn't kill you only makes you harder than the task-maker

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger than the task-maker

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger than the task-maker

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What doesn't kill you only makes you harder than the task-maker

[Bridge]

And the rich'll be rich, and the poor remain poor

Till the scriptures come towards [?] in the war

And the talk was real talk, and the walk was real stalk

'Cause it's [?]

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Man, I can't hear the prohibition 'cause I'm here to walk me talk

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I be at the bloody finish line, what the hell you waiting for?
