Big Thief have announced their sixth album ‘Double Infinity’

Big Thief announce September release of sixth album ‘Double Infinity’ and unveil new single ‘Incomprehensible’, recorded in New York City.

Big Thief are set to release their sixth studio album ‘Double Infinity’ on 5th September, alongside sharing new single ‘Incomprehensible’.

The album, which follows their 2022 Grammy-nominated ‘Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You’, was recorded at Power Station in New York City last winter. The trio – Adrianne Lenker, Buck Meek and James Krivchenia – spent three weeks recording at the studio, cycling between Brooklyn and Manhattan daily for nine-hour recording sessions.

The recording process saw them collaborate with various musicians, including Alena Spanger, Caleb Michel, Hannah Cohen, Jon Nellen, Joshua Crumbly, June McDoom, Laraaji, Mikel Patrick Avery and Mikey Buishas. The album was produced, engineered, and mixed by longtime Big Thief collaborator Dom Monks.

“How can beauty that is living be anything but true?” Lenker says of ‘Incomprehensible’. “Everything I see from now on will be something new. Let gravity be my sculptor, let the wind do my hair. Incomprehensible, let me be.”
