Black Country, New Road release new single 'Happy Birthday' with stop-motion video ahead of their third studio album 'Forever Howlong'.
Black Country, New Road have shared new single 'Happy Birthday', taken from their upcoming album 'Forever Howlong', set for release on 4th April via Ninja Tune.
The track arrives as the second preview of their third studio album, following lead single 'Besties'. The new record marks their first studio release since 2022's 'Ants From Up There' and follows 2023's 'Live at Bush Hall'.
Produced by James Ford, the album sees the band working with a new configuration where vocal duties and songwriting are shared between Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery and May Kershaw.
Hyde explains the writing process behind 'Happy Birthday', saying, "When I wrote 'Happy Birthday' I had Georgia's song 'Besties' in my head while I was writing it. Therefore, the structure of it is heavily influenced by it."
The single arrives alongside a stop-motion music video directed by Lesley-Anne Rose, following two birds helping each other escape from hunters in the woods.
