Carly Rae Jepsen looks like she’s got a case of ‘Western Wind’.
The former Dork cover star and Queen of Bops has been teasing over recent days. Earlier this week, she posted a treasure map online, alongside the caption “x marks the spot”.

The image also included what appeared to be lyrics:
“California. It crossed my mind…
Coming in like a western wind
Reminding me love that it’s all connected
First Bloom, you know it’s Spring
Do you feel home in all directions?
A celebration, a jubilation
My golden arrow”
That “western wind” line proved to be quite a big hint, it turns out, after a billboard appeared featuring the same wording as a title.

Both the new poster and Carly’s social media bios have featured a phone number. When dialled, it connects to the Carly Rae Jepsen hotline, where the promise of news is accompanied by some soft lounge piano.
To date, it’s unclear if ‘Western Wind’ is just the name of a comeback track or an entire project. Carly Rae Jepsen is down to play several festivals this summer, including a sold-out headline show at London’s Somerset House in July as part of the venue’s Summer Series.
Given she’s down to play Coachella in a little over a week, we’d expect to hear something more very soon indeed.
