Chanel Beads has announced details of a new album,
‘Your Day Will Come’, which is set to arrive on 26th June via Jagjaguwar. Alongside the news,
Shane Lavers has shared new single
‘Song for the Messenger’, complete with an accompanying video.
Despite sharing a title with his 2024 breakthrough debut, ‘Your Day Will Come’ is an entirely new record rather than a continuation. As the project developed, Lavers found the phrase took on a different weight, circling questions of certainty and doubt. Will your day come? What will it look like when it does?
The newly released ‘Song for the Messenger’ offers a first glimpse into that headspace. Written during a period where Lavers felt increasingly worn down by the world around him, the track leans into a more disoriented, internal perspective. “This song is laughing at me,” he says. “Like looking over your shoulder and walking off a cliff. The video is about no fear.”
A number of returning and new collaborators feature across the album, including violinist Zachary Paul and vocalist Maya McGrory, alongside contributions from friends such as Tchad Cousins (Urika’s Bedroom), Mari Maurice (More Eaze), Anastasia Coope, Bella Litsa and Isaac Eiger.
