Watch Charli XCX take on horror in Faces Of Death
The singer plays a content moderator alongside Barbie Ferreira in the horror film.

Director Daniel Goldhaber's latest film, Faces Of Death, features Charli XCX in a supporting acting role. Based on a cult series of videos from the 1980s, the horror film follows Barbie Ferreira's character, a content moderator navigating a nightmare scenario in which graphic violence spreads online. Charli XCX portrays a fellow "content moderator" called Gabby.
A newly released promotional clip reveals Charli delivering her lines in an American accent. News of her involvement in the project first surfaced in 2023, and though it was the first full cinematic part she shot, other acting projects have reached audiences before it.
According to Goldhaber, creative choices around the character's look and voice originated with Charli herself. Speaking to People, the director shared: "Charli came in and had a very specific idea of what she wanted her wardrobe for Gabby to be. She was like, 'I wanna have Marla Singer from Fight Club vibes in this movie.' And I was like, 'Great.'"
The film, which also serves as Goldhaber's follow-up to 2022's How To Blow Up A Pipeline, is now showing in cinemas. Ferreira, who also appears in the forthcoming indie rock rom-com Mile End Kicks, leads the cast.
