New indie type Covey has shared two new singles, ‘Sam Jam’ and ‘Crooked Spine’.
The pair of tracks are taken from his forthcoming album ‘Class Of Cardinal Sin’, and are thematically linked – both concerning tales about his sister.
‘Sam Jam’ finds Covey – real name Tom Freeman – seeking revenge on the man who once poured scalding hot coffee on his sibling’s head. Quite frankly, we’d advise calling the police.
The second, ‘Crooked Spine’ reflects on his sister’s battle with scoliosis.
British but Brooklyn based, Covey played a Tour To Nobody in 2020 – performing in rural locations across the American northeast for quite literally no one. Recording the audio and video, he made the former into the record, and the latter on TikTok. Because that, Dear Reader, is what we do these days.
Still, he appears to have done quite well over on ‘the Tok’ clocking up seven figures worth of followers as fans swap theories about the universe he’s creating around the record.
Basically, it’s like WandaVision. NO SPOILERS.
‘Class Of Cardinal Sin’ is set for release ‘soon’ via Rise Records. You can check out ‘Sam Jam’ and ‘Crooked Spine’ below.
