Deaf Havana have announced their seventh album ‘We’re Never Getting Out’, with The 1975’s Ross McDonald on bass

British rock band Deaf Havana announce their seventh album alongside a London show and new single.

Artists: Deaf Havana

Deaf Havana have announced their seventh studio album ‘We’re Never Getting Out’, set for release on 3rd October via So Recordings.

Alongside the album announcement, the band have shared new single ‘Lawn Tennis’, which explores themes of resisting conventional lifestyle choices. The track marks the first taste of their upcoming record, which was produced by George Glew, known for his work with Keir, Hanniou and Scout.

“I have always wanted to change myself,” frontman James Veck-Gilodi explains. “But I’ve also never really owned up to and accepted my mistakes. I’ve just punished myself, told myself that I hated myself and ended up cosplaying as a completely different person instead. All it took was for me to take the best parts from everything I have done and apply them without actually trying to totally change who I am in the process. Maybe it’s my age or mindset, but I accept who I am now and feel I know how to make myself a good person.”

The album features contributions from The 1975’s Ross McDonald on bass and drummer Freddie Sheed, who has previously worked with Lewis Capaldi and Take That. The twelve-track collection was recorded at Otterhead Studios in Rugby during November 2024.

“It’s excitement I feel now and not dread,” Veck-Gilodi adds. “I used to dread going on stage and on tour. I used to dread releasing albums and talking about them because I didn’t know what I was doing. Now, I’ve never been clearer about what this all is. I know I can back myself enough to know I will put everything I have into this. And I am so proud of these songs because we worked so hard on them. This is the best Deaf Havana album and the best thing I have ever been a part of writing.”
