dodie has confirmed her second album 'Not For Lack of Trying' with hilarious new single 'I Feel Bad For You, Dave'
A North American tour for early 2026 has also been announced, following previously confirmed UK and European shows for late 2025.

dodie is set to release her second album 'Not For Lack of Trying' on 3rd October via Decca Records, introduced by new single 'I Feel Bad For You, Dave'.
'I Feel Bad For You, Dave' follows last month’s 'I’M FINE'. Speaking about the track, dodie says, “a song about the ego of people who feel as though they lack power, so try to gain it in ways that ironically have the opposite effect. We all know a Dave!”
The song also responds to online abuse directed at a close friend: “I did not know what to do - I wanted to just drag them down, I wanted to reply to them and make videos about them,” she remembers. “And I was like, ‘OK, I can't do any of that, so I'll write a song.’”
Written largely between London and Los Angeles with producer Joe Rubel (Maisie Peters, Griff, Sigrid), 'Not For Lack of Trying' has been framed by dodie as a companion to 2021 debut 'Build A Problem', drawing together themes of love, break-ups, comparison culture and depression.
“Not For Lack Of Trying is so simple, so sad and it really painted this picture of all these songs, of me trying to figure it out,” she explains. The title track, written late in the process, closes the record: “Lend me joy I can’t see mine / But not for lack of trying,” she declares. “It was one of those songs that feels like it's already written, so you're trying to find it,” she says.
