dodie has shared her new single 'Darling, Angel, Baby', the latest cut from her second album 'Not For Lack of Trying', which is set to arrive on 3rd October via Decca / Verve.
Dedicated to Mrs, the cat she shares with flatmate and FIZZ bandmate Greta Isaac, the track also features an appearance from Isaac. “In an album full of pain and confusion and figuring it out, Mrs is such a big part of my life and she brings me so much joy,” she shares.
'Not For Lack of Trying' follows previous singles 'I Feel Bad For You, Dave' and 'I’M FINE'. Written largely between London and Los Angeles with Grammy-nominated producer Joe Rubel (Maisie Peters, Griff, Sigrid), the record was shaped over three years as dodie explored themes including love, break-ups, comparison culture, and mental health. “Not For Lack Of Trying is so simple, so sad and it really painted this picture of all these songs, of me trying to figure it out,” she explains.
