Elton John and Brandi Carlile have celebrated their forthcoming collaborative album ‘Who Believes In Angels?’ with a special performance at The London Palladium.

The event, hosted by Dan Levy, saw the pair perform tracks from their new album alongside selections from their respective catalogues. The show featured the live debuts of ‘Swing For The Fences’, ‘Little Richard’s Bible’ and ‘You Before Me’, alongside covers of Patsy Cline’s ‘Crazy’ and Jim Reeves’ ‘He’ll Have To Go’.

The performance included renditions of ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’, ‘Your Song’, ‘Tiny Dancer’, ‘The Joke’, ‘The Story’ and ‘Bennie And The Jets’, before concluding with ‘I’m Still Standing’. They were joined by a band featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith on drums, producer Andrew Watt on guitar, The Hanseroth Twins on guitar and bass, Josh Klinghoffer on keyboard, Andrew Ross on saxophone, and Graeme Flowers on trumpet.

During the evening, John and Carlile discussed their 20-year friendship and the recording process of their new album with Levy. The show also featured video messages from Dua Lipa, Chappell Roan, Ed Sheeran, and Sam Smith.

‘Who Believes In Angels?’ will be released on 4th April via Island EMI. The filmed concert will air on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player on 19th April, and on CBS on 6th April.
