Employed To Serve have returned with new single ‘Dead Reckoning’, their first new music since 2024 album ‘Fallen Star’.
Released via Church Road Records, the track was recorded with longtime collaborator Lewis Johns, who produced and mastered the song. It arrives as the band's first step into a new chapter following a busy period of touring and festival appearances.
Speaking about the song, guitarist and vocalist Sammy Urwin says: “When the track was being written, it was one of those situations where it exploded into existence, rather than having been carefully crafted.”
Lead vocalist Justine Jones adds: “‘Dead Reckoning’ definitely taps more into our darker side and serves as a conduit to blow off steam. We hope the listeners get the same release from the track that we do.”
The song explores perseverance and trusting your instincts when facing difficult circumstances, with Jones delivering the refrain: “Against all odds, I find my way.”
Employed To Serve will spend the summer on the road, with festival appearances including Wacken Open Air, Radar Festival, Leyendas del Rock and Dynamo Metalfest, alongside dates with In Flames, Unearth and Of Mice and Men.
The Capitol Records single follows his recent Wembley Arena headline and 'Missed Again' EP.
