Ewan McKenna has introduced himself with debut single ‘Like Us’
The Airdrie singer-songwriter taught himself guitar during lockdown.

Scottish singer-songwriter Ewan McKenna has released his debut single, 'Like Us'.
19-year-old McKenna, from Airdrie near Glasgow, first picked up the guitar during lockdown, using an instrument his uncle had lent him. By fifteen, McKenna had joined a band as lead guitarist before stepping into the vocal role.
Speaking about the transition, he said: "I'd never really sung before, but nobody else wanted to do it, so I gave it a bash. The more I did it, the more confident I got."
From there, he began seeking out live opportunities around local pubs. He added: "If they had a gap when the usual singer was off, they'd give me a try and usually I'd end up getting a regular slot."
