Green Day’s early years film has been retitled ‘Nimrods’ after their 1997 album
The film was originally titled New Year's Rev.

The film inspired by Green Day's early years on the road has undergone a title change. Originally called New Year's Rev, the movie will now go by Nimrods, taking its name from the band's 1997 album 'Nimrod'.
Centring on three high school friends, the plot sees the trio embark on a road trip after they are mistakenly led to believe they have landed an opening slot for Green Day on New Year's Eve. Drawing on the band's own experiences around the era of their 1994 record 'Dookie', the film features appearances from Green Day themselves, who also serve as producers on the project.
Mason Thames, McKenna Grace, Jenna Fischer and Fred Armisen make up the cast. Nimrods had its premiere at last September's Toronto Film Festival, though no wider release date has yet been confirmed.
