As the end of 2019 approaches, and 2020 pokes its head over the hill, we’re all thinking about the same things. What’s just happened, and what comes next?
We’ve got both nailed down in our end of year bumper double issue, but as always, we’re leading off the front foot. With two special back-to-back covers, the magnificent Girl In Red and Inhaler are (quite literally) bursting through to lead our Hype List 2020 – Dork’s annual roster of the best and buzziest new acts.
It’s a bumper pack, that’s for sure. We’re joined by (deep breath – Ed) Beabadoobee, Alfie Templeman, Phoebe Green, Maisie Peters, Do Nothing, Bloxx, Dry Cleaning, Squid, Talk Show, Just Mustard, Lauran Hibberd, Eyesore & The Jinx, Rachel Chinouriri, Oscar Lang, Squid, mxmtoon and loads, LOADS more.
We’re not ignoring the last twelve months, though. We’ve compiled the statistics, done our research, polled the masses (that’s you lot) and worked out 2019 in Lists. Yep, the best albums, bands, bangers and… erm… commercially available wigs are all ranked and rated in a definitive infodump. It’s a winner takes all battle for the top spot, Dear Reader.
With the past and the future sorted, like a bad Christmas film, it’s only the present we’ve got to take care of. That’s dealt with ably, with the likes of Blaenavon, Orlando Weeks, Hannah Diamond, Jack Penate, Bad Sounds, Charli XCX and The Big Moon all kicking up a storm. Nobody is going hungry this Christmas.
