The Avalanches link with Jamie xx on new track 'Every Single Weekend'
The Australian trio rework a track from Jamie xx's 'In Waves'

The Avalanches have shared 'Every Single Weekend', a fresh team-up with Jamie xx.
Originally appearing as an interlude on Jamie xx's 'In Waves', the track has now been reworked by the trio – Robbie Chater, Tony Di Blasi and Midnight Juggernauts' Andy Szekeres. It marks their third joint outing with the producer, after 'Wherever You Go' and 'All You Children'.
Speaking about the partnership, the group said, "We've loved collaborating with Jamie xx over the years - his In Colour album reignited our passion for sampling, and this track is all about letting go, forgetting the 9-5 grind and enjoying every single weekend."
True to their recent rollout, the release leans on the visual language of advertising via a fictional brand called Takumi, which features again in materials accompanying the song.
The new track arrives hot on the heels of 'Together', issued last month with contributions from Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza and emerging artist Prentiss. An album has yet to be confirmed.
The group's last full-length, 'We Will Always Love You', landed in 2020 with a sprawling guest list that included Denzel Curry, Tricky, Jamie xx, MGMT, Johnny Marr, Karen O and Rivers Cuomo. It followed 2016's 'Wildflower', which itself arrived 16 years after their debut, 2000's 'Since I Left You'.
