Iceage have dropped ‘Ember’ and announced a new album built on live takes and raw immediacy
Iceage returned to Silence Studio in rural Sweden for the Danish group's sixth record.

Danish group Iceage have revealed details of their sixth studio album. 'For Love of Grace & the Hereafter' will arrive on 29th May through Mexican Summer, with new single 'Ember' out now.
'Ember' opens the forthcoming record and follows previously shared track 'Star'. A video for the single, directed by the band alongside Ira Rønnenfelt, accompanies the release.
For the album sessions, Iceage returned to Silence Studio in rural Sweden near the Norwegian border — a location they last used over a decade ago when recording 2014's 'Plowing Into the Field of Love'. It remains the only studio the five-piece have revisited throughout their career.
Nis Bysted handled production and mixing duties alongside the band, with the group opting for a stripped-back approach: live decision-making, full takes with minimal overdubs, and lyrics penned just weeks before entering the studio.
Vocalist Elias Rønnenfelt explains the thinking behind this approach: "The songs needed to be immediate, urgent, raw, and fast. We wanted to try to shed any unnecessary weight. Catching outlets of energy is what excites us the most."
