Jade Bird has announced third album ‘Who Wants To Talk About Love’ with her dark new single ‘Dreams’

British singer-songwriter Jade Bird reveals new album and single ‘Dreams’, exploring family relationships and personal growth through dark themes.

Artists: Jade Bird

Jade Bird has announced her third studio album ‘Who Wants To Talk About Love’, set for release via Glassnote Records on 18th July, alongside sharing new single ‘Dreams’.

‘Dreams’, produced by Greg Kurstin, is the only track on the album to feature the Grammy-winning producer’s work. The rest of the album has been crafted with executive producer Andrew Wells, known for his work with Phoebe Bridgers and Teddy Swims, with additional contributions from Andrew Sarlo and Teddy Geiger.

“‘Dreams’ is a very dark song,” Bird explains. “I saw a billboard driving to the studio after a bit of a nasty breakdown. I’d gone to sleep at five am the night before and read ‘this is what dreams are made of’. Combined with the LA sun I felt a deep irony. It’s about feeling too broken to be with the person you love. Pushing them away because of generational habits and (I don’t like the word) trauma.”

The LA-based artist describes the album as an exploration of family relationships and personal growth. “I wrote this album while trying to make sense of the broken relationships in my family- my parents, both sets of grandparents – and the way they echoed into my own life when my engagement ended. It’s as much a question as an answer, wondering if I could break the cycle while finding my own path to forgiveness- not just from my dad, but for myself.”

Bird will support Tom Odell on his North American tour and perform at several festivals throughout the year.
