Kendrick performed at this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, becoming the first solo rapper to headline the iconic showcase.

During his performance at Super Bowl LIX, Lamar performed tracks including ‘Squabble Up’, ‘HUMBLE.’, ‘DNA.’ and ‘Euphoria’. The set featured special guest appearances from SZA, Serena Williams and Samuel L. Jackson.

Before playing ‘Not Like Us’, he addressed the crowd, saying: “I want to play their favourite song but you know they like to sue,” referencing Drake’s legal action against Universal Music Group following the track’s success.

The performance was marked by an unexpected incident when one member of Lamar’s 400-strong ensemble of dancers and models was escorted from the field after unfurling a flag with “Sudan” and “Gaza” written on it during his performance of ‘TV Off’ with DJ-producer Mustard.

The appearance follows Lamar’s recent success at the Grammy Awards, where he collected five awards including Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for ‘Not Like Us’.
