Låpsley has announced her fourth studio album ‘I’M A HURRICANE I’M A WOMAN IN LOVE’, alongside new single ‘BETTER’, released via her own label Her Own Recordings.
The new album, set for release on 2nd May, marks her first as a fully independent artist and sees Holly Låpsley Fletcher moving towards an indie-pop direction. The 11-track record draws from a period of personal upheaval, with lyrics lifted directly from her diary entries.
“BETTER is about meeting someone that makes you want to change your life. A good partner or friend holds up a mirror in the most beautiful and vulnerable way. My artistry is shape shifting, as my personal life is, for the better,” Fletcher says.
The album’s artwork portrays Fletcher as a Joan of Arc-like figure with ice-white hair and three bows, drawing inspiration from her mother’s Scottish heritage and her surname’s meaning of ‘arrow-maker’. It represents her first opportunity for complete creative control over her output.
