Leroy Clampitt explores burnout and balance on new single ‘Sick Day’ as he announces debut album ‘Get Happy’
The producer behind hits for Madison Beer and Lily Allen launches Sorry Susan Records.

Leroy Clampitt has announced his debut solo album ‘Get Happy’, due for release on 14th August via his newly launched independent label Sorry Susan Records.
The New Zealand-born, LA-based songwriter and producer has also shared new single ‘Sick Day’, the latest preview of the record following previous tracks ‘I’m Going To Die’ and ‘Easy Daisy’.
Even if his name isn’t immediately familiar, Clampitt’s work likely is. Across the last decade he’s co-written and produced music for artists including Sabrina Carpenter, Madison Beer, Laufey, Ashe, Mallrat and Lily Allen, earning multiple Grammy nominations along the way.
Speaking about ‘Get Happy’, Clampitt explains: “I was always very content – I still am – making music for other people, I don’t think that’ll ever change. But the ideas that you hear on this record were probably a bit too far out for the people I was working with.”
He adds: “It was a burst of inspiration, and that’s what I love about music… what I’ve learnt to love the most.”
New single ‘Sick Day’ was inspired by feelings of burnout during intense periods of studio work, alongside an unlikely source: the sound of a skateboard hitting concrete.
“‘Taking a Sick Day’ is a strange concept when you’re self-employed, especially when you’re not technically sick - but I’m a big fan of it,” Clampitt says. “Eventually I even rerecorded the ollie sound myself while skating and holding a microphone.”
