Little Simz has filed a lawsuit against producer Inflo over an alleged £1.7million loan dispute.

The UK rapper, whose real name is Simbiatu Ajikawo, initiated legal proceedings against the producer in January, claiming he has withheld loan repayments for more than a year and failed to properly account for Sony-provided recording costs.

Inflo, whose real name is Dean Cover, produced Simz’s albums ‘GREY Area’ (2019), ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ (2021), and ‘No Thank You’ (2022). The pair’s professional relationship extended to when Simz was managed by an employee of Cover’s Forever Living Originals Ltd.

The legal filing details multiple loans, including £600,000 transferred to a Forever Living Originals bank account for recording costs. Additionally, Simz provided £1million to secure SAULT’s Drumsheds performance in London, followed by subsequent loans of £500,000 and £200,000 in December 2023. The agreement reportedly stipulated that the Drumsheds-related loan would be repaid by early December.

According to the lawsuit, Simz expected any unused recording cost funds to be returned upon album completion. In October, Inflo’s solicitors presented recording cost documentation totalling approximately £525,000.

The non-repayment of these loans has reportedly impacted Simz’s ability to fulfil her tax obligations, resulting in additional interest charges.

While Inflo has not yet filed a defence, his legal representatives acknowledged the debt in October, suggesting Forever Living Originals bears responsibility rather than Inflo personally.
