Lizzo's new album is "one of the most musically badass, daring and sophisticated bodies of work I’ve done to date"

Lizzo has revealed a few details about her new music, expected to arrive later this year.

Speaking to Variety, as part of a cover feature around her new Amazon show Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, the star revealed that the record is "a love album."

"Broadly, I’ve been working on this album since the summer of 2018," she explains. "It has evolved to a place where I’m proud. It’s one of the most musically badass, daring and sophisticated bodies of work I’ve done to date.
